Rainbow Lake is a 116-acre man made lake near the town of Pinetop-Lakeside in southern Navajo County, Arizona, United States. The lake was created in 1903 when Mormon settlers dammed up Walnut Creek, a tributary of the Little Colorado River, to impound water for irrigation. It is the perfect spot to escape the heat of Southern Arizona in the summer or go skiing and sledding in the winter. This is truly a 4 season destination that you can enjoy year after year.
Rainbow Lake is great for family boating and fishing for trout, bass, and catfish. The area has so much wildlife as well! From bears and elk to an endless variety of birds, including waterfowl and eagles, your kids will never be bored.
